Monsignor McHugh School offers 3 interscholastic sports, along with some options that are offered as club sports. Please see below for a brief description of what is offered. Click the links for schedule information and game results. 

Sports

Basketball

Boys and Girls Basketball is offered in grades 3 through 8. Our JV and Varsity teams compete in the Scranton Catholic League. The Girls JV and Varsity league plays in the Fall, but will also continue through the winter with various tournaments. The Boys JV and Varsity play in the winter.

Our 3rd through 6th Grade teams play in the local Pocono Mountain basketball league. This level for both boys and girls compete in the winter.

Soccer

Boys and Girls in grades 3 through 8 may participate in our Soccer program.  Soccer is played in the fall, and our teams participate in the NEPSAY league (Northeast Pennsylvania Soccer Association for Youth.

Activities

Book Nook

This is a fun afternoon for students from Kindergarten to 3rd Grade.  Each month, Mrs. Brennan, and Sister Pat lead children through a series of crafts and activities based on a selected book.  

Chorus

Chorus members participate in monthly masses as well as a Spring Concert.

 

D.A.R.E

D.A.R.E. is a police officer-led series of classroom lessons that teaches children in 5th Grade how to resist peer pressure and live productive drug and violence-free lives.

Science Fair 

Students from all grades participate in the MMS Annual Science Fair, which showcases individual and class projects from everyone in the school.  

 

Clubs

Chess Club

This club is open to students in grades 3 through 6.  Students learn the game of chess in preparation for tournament competitions later in the year.
